The story of VENUS IS VEGAN

VENUS IS VEGAN was founded in the Netherlands by Nikita in 2020. Nikita’s mission is to help you get the best out of yourself in a responsible way, so that you can express what you stand for. The shoes of VENUS IS VEGAN are produced in an honest and fair way in Portugal. “There is a shift in our collective consciousness. We’re becoming increasingly aware that we’re all part of the greater whole, so our sense of responsibility for this earth is growing. Yet people often do not realize the (animal) suffering behind the leather industry”.

Sustainable apple leather

The upper part of all VENUS IS VEGAN models is made entirely out of apple leather. The production of the material takes place in Italy where the waste from the apple juice industry is reused. Apple leather consists for at least 50% of recycled apple fibers and cellulose, so it is a completely natural raw material.
In addition, this strong material is indistinguishable from real leather, making it a high-quality, sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to animal leather.
Frumat, the company behind this beautiful material, received the ‘Technology and Innovation award’ at the Green Carpet Fashion Awards in Milan in 2018.
